A Peek at My Stash...

Admit it, you've been dying to see this "stash" I'm so often sewing from!  Go on... you know you want to...
Picture
Mysterious bureau beckons you to open its drawers...
In my room, I have a large bureau with six drawers.  Three are for my clothes; the other three are for my fabric:

TOP DRAWER

Mostly white fabric.  I don't know why I have so much white, since I rarely sew with it.  It's useful for linings, though, and I like frilly slips.  And lace.  And nice linen.  Okay, it's a gazingus pin!

MIDDLE DRAWER

Yellows, browns, and pinks!  Some of these fabrics I have plans for, others I just like.

Do you recognize the African wax print I used for the Cricket in the Congo quilt?  I still have yards and yards of it!  Someday a dress...

BOTTOM DRAWER

A few reds, blues, and greens.

Check out that hefty embroidered wool (machine not person) that looks kinda Scandinavian!  I found it in a free pile.  I washed it, and it came out denser and really nice.  The wool embroidery felted into the background marvelously.  I have no idea what I'll do with it.

BUT WAIT!  DERE'S MORE!

There's also a pile next to the bureau, cluttering up my floor and driving me a little bonkers.  I have plans for most of it eventually (that's how it ended up on the floor), but I don't like it on the floor in the meantime.

This is why I try not to buy more fabric... but it's very tempting when I'm at Fabric Depot or the Mill End Store, and I see something I like, and I imagine what I could do with it... Maybe you know how that is?  You're not buying fabric, you're buying possibilities!

If only we could buy time and energy at the same time.  As it is, my stash far exceeds my sewing time, and it's not even a very big stash!
