Tunic Tops

These are some hand-sewn tops I made in 2015, from a simple boxy pattern I took from a RTW top I already had.  They're easy to make, but not terribly attractive to wear.  They fit like hospital scrubs.

BASIC WHITE TUNIC TOP

The facing is held in place with a simple running stitch in swirly patterns.

YELLOW STRIPED TUNIC TOP

I fell in love with this sweet fabric at a vintage store! It reminds me of a nightgown I had as a child.

I experimented with hemming the edges first and then whip-stitching them together at the side seams. Very sturdy!

The slit at the bottom of the side seam. Notice the re-enforcing stitches at the end of the seam?

I could seem them working with high-waisted jeans. I like the bow on the yellow one; it's cute.
